Jonathan has directed more than fifteen shows, including comedies, dramas, musicals, new plays, and physical theatre. He loves to find unique ways to tell stories, and his aesthetic revolves around allowing audiences to understand who is telling them the story onstage.
Jonathan is the co-founder and Artistic Director for Recess Theatre, a theatre and performance studio located in Robbinsville, NJ where he teaches and directs. Jonathan directed The Tempest and Twelfth Night with Recess Theatre's elite Shakespeare Company, The Sandbox Players. He also currently serves as Artistic Director for Hightstown Theatre in the Park, a summer theatre program sponsored by the Borough of Hightstown. He also is the Artistic Associate for Pegasus Theatre Company in West Windsor. By day, Jonathan serves as the Middle School Theater Teacher and Director at Princeton Day School, directing a Fall Play and Spring Musical each year. Other directing credits include: Peter and the Starcatchers (Pennington Players), The Empty Chair (NYC premiere at the Thespis Theatre Festival), The Trophy Wife (Granite State Playwright's Workshop), A Comedy of Shakespearean Errors (world premiere), a sold-out run of Avenue Q (JMU), and his all-time favorite, The Yellow Boat (JMU) which led to him receiving an award from JMU's Theatre Department for Creative Achievement in the Studio Black Box Theatre.
